Labour Taxation across CEE and Adria: Comparison, Trends and Latest Tax Updates

A salary figure tells only part of the story. Across CEE and Adria, the same annual gross remuneration can translate into significantly different net pay for the employee – and a very different total cost for the employer.

Countries of CEE region: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia

The gap between what the employer pays and what the employee receives – the tax wedge – differs considerably from one country to the next, and the differences increase as salaries rise. For compensation planning, mobility decisions and 2027 workforce budgets, the country of employment is therefore as relevant as the salary level itself.

At our webinar, experts from the LeitnerLeitner international network will compare the figures side by side and present the factors behind the differences, including personal income tax rates, mandatory social security contributions, contribution ceilings, and country-specific tax reliefs and incentives. In addition, we will provide an overview of the most important changes for 2026 and discuss what employers should be prepared for in the areas of remuneration systems, employee benefits, and termination packages.

The event will be held in English and participation is free of charge.
