The hallmarks of conscious private wealth management: a person-centered approach and long-term value preservation

In January 2026, LeitnerLeitner’s Private Clients Business Unit and Family Office Services Competence Center began operations. The new business unit is unique in the Hungarian market in offering vertically integrated services that meet all the needs of wealthy individuals and corporate or foundation structures managing family assets. “Just as every person and every family is different, personal and family wealth also requires individual treatment,” emphasized Dr. Levente Antal Szabó, LeitnerLaw, and Diána Elek, trusted advisor to the LeitnerLeitner Private Clients business unit.

Wealthy individuals face a number of specific financial, legal, tax and—and perhaps surprisingly—human and family issues in connection with the management of their investments and income. “Decisions must be made taking all relevant factors into account: treating family members fairly while preserving the value of the assets; complying fully with domestic and international tax regulations, while finding the most advantageous tax treatment.” Dr. Levente Antal Szabó pointed out the importance of a complex and empathetic approach to solving this task.

“LeitnerLeitner’s Private Clients Business Unit strives to find the optimal tax burden and long-term wealth preservation solution for every life situation and family structure.” – emphasized Diána Elek, the division’s tax expert. When developing the tax law aspects of the service package, the focus was placed on the taxation and social security treatment of personal income, assets, inheritance, and international mobility, while at the same time providing further tax and legal advice in a complex manner, taking into account each individual problem in its context and tailoring it to the specific family situation.

The business line was established by adapting the market-leading services of the Austrian parent company, leveraging the experience gained over decades in advising families with significant assets at international level for the benefit of the domestic business environment. In addition to the best practices adopted, the staff of the Hungarian office also have considerable experience in tax consulting and family asset structuring within their exclusive clientele.

Our advisors are certified wealth planning experts and also have the mediation experience necessary to handle conflicts that arise during the distribution of assets. Thanks to their cooperation, clients do not have to coordinate with individual experts, but instead receive a jointly developed solution that takes all aspects into account from a single source. Last but not least, effective international cooperation within the group and between global partners ensures that financial and asset structures anywhere in the world can be optimally structured.

The most common situations and issues for which it is worth contacting the Private Client Business Unit: taxation of international capital income, taxation of crypto investments and other special assets (e.g., gold investments), international income-generating legal relationships and cross-border life situations, international transfer and distribution of family assets, generational change, taxation of real estate utilization and sales, and tax authority procedures.

The asset management service package includes advice on global personal income tax and social security, asset structuring, foundation and trust asset management, real estate advice, support in tax authority proceedings, and advice on inheritance and matrimonial or cohabitation property law issues. The Austrian-based family office service is a novelty on the Hungarian market, whose main value proposition is to ease the administrative, documentation, deadline tracking, and other organizational burdens of entrepreneurial families.
